We already shaked hands with this band earlier this year. The re-release of 'Rituals' still raves through our head and we've been shaken up again by a montrous production from Finland, this time directly from the French label Musea. Combining the early seventies sound with a bit of modern complex power prog, the new songs seems to display the evolution of a young and strong growing prog band. Between the five tracks the longest one 'Sequels (the Feast of Fools)' gets the most attention. Not only due to the time lenght (over 26 minutes), but certainly because of the warm sound and outraging Genesis-like chord changes. Together with the raw voice of Tommy Eriksson, referring to Fish and Robert Plant now and then, this one grows to an absolute climax. This epic together with the songs 'Line of force' (what a cool guitarsolo) and 'Metamorphosis' can be mentioned as some of the best that Ageness has made (keeping 'Showing paces' in mind). 'Fear' (with a strong climax) and 'Chain reaction' are more or less show-offs of modern progressive rock, but still good and in the vein of classic seventies. All highlights again on this new album. You will choose your personal favorite track. The theatric performance has to complete the image(ness) of the band, so venue managers, don't hesitate and book them.
