Album of the month March 1998.
Abraxas - Centurie
It may be hard, but I will try to describe this amazing new album coming from Poland. When you listen for the first time, you're wondering if this is realy Abraxas from Poland. When you listen for a second time or more (this would absolutely happen) you're not wondering anymore but you're completely in trance and just want to listen again and again. What a masterpiece is 'Centurie'. Not to compare with the (Marillion-like)debut album, but very nice presented. Compare it to the first one like you did with for instance a Peter Gabriel album to one of the early Genesis. It has the same mystic atmosphere as you can aware in Gabriels work, completed with some Prog-metal (Dream Theater) and gothic influences. Off coarse there is still a recognized Abraxas sound, but there is a lot more to enjoy. I must admit that it's maybe hard to swallow for a die-hard symphonic freak, but this album will absolutely grow when you listen to it a couple of times.
