One
of the most underestimated prog bands in the world is the
Swedish Sinkadus. Walking in the footsteps of the late Anglagard,
they create a dark, sinister and sometimes sprinkling atmosphere
over their music. Using complex rhythms, vintage keys like
hammond, mellotron and filling up with flute they manage to
come to a masterpiece. For some people is hard to get through
the album, but the fans of original complex prog can feed
their ears with this tastefull album.
Opening track 'Jag, anglamarks bane' has allready bee released
in a live performance on their Progfest album. It shows direct
what Sinkadus is. First showing their strong presence then
retreating in a calmness with lovely acoustic guitar and flute,
to burst out again in the end.
Bombastic openings and repeated patterns are one of the weapons
of this band, but the mesmerising sound of the mellotron absolutely
steals your heart.
You can't point a specific highlight on the album, for the
level is equal on most of the tracks. This is a worthfull
follow-up to Aurum Nostrum.
