Quidam - Sny aniolow

After their marvelous debut album and some brilliant shows the expectations about the next album were very high. So the first time you listen to 'Sny aniolow' this could be a disillusion. But luckily a progrock fanatic listens more than once to a new record and will find out that this album contains some very emotional material. When you can forget the first album for a moment you must admit that some tracks do have a real good balanced sound and composition. The vocals from Emila Derkowska this time sound as angelic as always. Some of the song material do make me think of passages from the Norwegian duo Bel Canto. The only remark I will make is that the songs are too song-oriented. The adventurous prog influences from 'Quidam' are hard to find now. Maybe this is due too the difficult time the band made through this year. Let's hope that the next one will be a middle way between the two albums.
