Interview & Live performance
In 2001 the Dutch band "Mangrove" recorded their demo album "Massive Hollowness". On the CD Eric Holdtman was responsible for the vocals. But he left the group and Roland van der Horst combined the guitars with the singing. Chris Jonker joined, enriching the keyboards which was taken care of by drummer Joost Hagemeijer so far.
The new line-up worked on new material, which is clearly more symphonic/prog orientated than the songs on "Massive Hollowness". Influences of Genesis, Camel and Led Zeppelin are evident. November 4th, 2002 they played live in our SymfoCity broadcast, which resulted in several enthousiastinc responses. Listen to the last minute of "City of darkness" (MP3 993kB) and get goose bumps as we got during the gig! We hope Mangrove will soon find a record label to enable us to enjoy their new compositions on a full album.
